Still Here, Still Growing

It's been a while. The last post here was back in August 2025, and if you've been around, you probably noticed the silence. No new posts, no updates, nothing. So let me catch you up.

Where I've Been

The honest answer? Life got busy. Work hit its peak season, and when you're running on fumes during the day, sitting down to write or code at night becomes a lot harder than it sounds. On top of that, some personal stuff needed my attention too. Nothing dramatic—just the kind of things that quietly eat your time and energy until you realize months have gone by.

I didn't stop caring about this blog or my projects. I just had to step back for a bit. And honestly, I think that's okay. Not every pause needs to be a failure. Sometimes you just need to breathe.

What's Been Happening Behind the Scenes

The thing is, even when I wasn't posting, I wasn't standing still. The Raspberry Pi server from my last post? It's grown. I now have databases running on it, and I set up a self-hosted media server that's been working surprisingly well. Small wins, but they taught me a lot about managing services on my own hardware.

I also started a Python course. I've been wanting to add Python to my toolkit for a while now, and it felt like the right time to commit to it. It's been a good experience so far—different from what I'm used to, which is exactly the point.

And then there's something else. I've been working on an app. I'm not going to say what it is yet—it's still early and I want to let it take shape before I start talking too much about it. But I will say this: it's the kind of project that makes you want to open your laptop on a Sunday morning just to keep going. That's a good sign.

What's Next

This blog is getting some love too. Nothing crazy—I'm finally adding a dark mode, which honestly should have been there from the start. Small things, but they add up.

I'm not going to promise a strict schedule—I've learned that life doesn't always cooperate with content calendars. But I am going to keep showing up, sharing what I'm learning, and building in the open. That's what this space is for.

The roots didn't die. They were just growing underground.
